Description
The case blue mastodon doctor knife is an exceptionally scarce Case XX Classic produced in 1995 as one of only ten examples. Its traditional Doctor / Physician Knife frame is dressed in striking 20,000-year-old Blue Mastodon Fossil, creating a distinctive collector piece from the Case XX Classic era.
Blue Mastodon Fossil covers both sides of the knife, displaying the natural coloration and character associated with ancient fossil material. A traditional Case XX shield accents the handles, while the main blade carries both “Mastodon” lettering and the important “1 of 10” marking documenting the extremely limited production.
The case blue mastodon doctor knife measures 3 7/8 inches closed and carries stainless steel spear and spatula blades, preserving the classic two-blade configuration associated with the Doctor / Physician pattern. A small pin fracture is visible around the rear right pin, a characteristic that can occur with natural fossil handle material and is noted for an accurate representation of the knife’s condition.
Made in Bradford, Pennsylvania, USA, this case blue mastodon doctor knife remains new and has never been used, sharpened, or carried. It comes in its Case XX Classic box from W.R. Case & Sons, bringing together rare fossil handles, traditional Case construction, and an exceptionally small production of only ten knives.
