Description
The case mammoth baby doc is a highly collectible factory limited edition that showcases one of Case XX’s finest combinations of prehistoric natural materials and traditional American craftsmanship. Manufactured in 2008 and limited to only 250 pieces, this elegant Baby Doc represents one of the later Mammoth Bark Fossil releases from the coveted Case XX exotic material series.
Its genuine 20,000-year-old Mammoth Bark Fossil handles display rich natural coloration, rugged texture, and remarkable organic character developed over thousands of years. Every set of fossil scales is naturally unique, ensuring no two knives are exactly alike. Beautiful fluted nickel silver bolsters further distinguish the case mammoth baby doc, giving it the refined appearance expected from one of Case’s premium factory limited editions.
IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER from Case: The handles of this case knife are crafted from fossilized Mammoth Ivory mined from the permafrost of Siberian Russia. The Mammoth, an ancestor to the modern Elephant first roamed the Earth some 4 to 5 million years ago, and became extinct between 12 and 40 thousand years ago. Because this handle has been underground for thousands of years, there may be large variations in color or surface finish. Fossil Mammoth Ivory handles may have lines, fissures or other imperfections that are inherent in this material and should not be considered as defects.
Measuring 2 7/8 inches closed, this traditional Baby Doc features Tru-Sharp surgical stainless steel blades that preserve the classic doctor’s knife configuration while showcasing the quality and craftsmanship that have made Case XX one of America’s most respected cutlery manufacturers. Produced in a strictly limited run of only 250 pieces, this knife continues to be highly sought after by collectors of rare Mammoth Bark Fossil Case knives.
This knife is new, never used, carried, or sharpened, and has remained safely stored since originally purchased. It comes complete in its original Case XX Black Felt Jewel Box. Proudly made in Bradford, Pennsylvania, USA, the case mammoth baby doc is an exceptional addition to any serious Case XX collection, blending prehistoric materials, traditional styling, and outstanding collector appeal.
