Description
The case mammoth gunstock knife is one of the most exclusive factory-produced collectible Case XX knives from 2005. Limited to just 100 pieces, this remarkable Small Gunstock combines prehistoric Mammoth Bark Fossil with elegant factory scrollwork, creating a knife that ranks among the most desirable fossil-handled Case releases.
Its genuine 20,000-year-old Mammoth Bark Fossil handles display naturally occurring texture, rich color variation, and distinctive character developed over thousands of years beneath the earth. Every set of scales is unique, ensuring that no two knives are exactly alike. Factory scrolled nickel silver bolsters further elevate the presentation, giving the case mammoth gunstock knife an unmistakably refined appearance.
IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER from Case: The handles of this case knife are crafted from fossilized Mammoth Ivory mined from the permafrost of Siberian Russia. The Mammoth, an ancestor to the modern Elephant first roamed the Earth some 4 to 5 million years ago, and became extinct between 12 and 40 thousand years ago. Because this handle has been underground for thousands of years, there may be large variations in color or surface finish. Fossil Mammoth Ivory handles may have lines, fissures or other imperfections that are inherent in this material and should not be considered as defects.
Measuring just 2 7/8 inches closed, this traditional Small Gunstock features Tru-Sharp surgical stainless steel Clip and Pen blades, offering the versatility and timeless functionality that have made this compact pattern a favorite among traditional knife collectors. Serialized 74 of only 100 made, this knife represents an increasingly scarce opportunity to own one of Case XX’s most desirable limited-production releases.
This knife is new, never used, carried, or sharpened, and has remained safely stored since originally purchased. It comes housed in a replacement Case XX black felt jewel box. Proudly made in Bradford, Pennsylvania, USA, the case mammoth gunstock knife is a museum-worthy addition to any serious Case XX or limited-edition traditional knife collection.
