Description

The case mammoth saddlehorn knife is a highly collectible factory limited edition that showcases one of Case XX’s earliest uses of genuine prehistoric material in a production knife. Manufactured in 2004, this exceptional Saddlehorn pairs a classic American pattern with authentic Mammoth Bark Fossil, creating a knife that continues to be sought after by advanced Case collectors.

Its genuine 20,000-year-old Mammoth Bark Fossil handles display naturally rugged texture, rich coloration, and organic character formed over thousands of years. Unlike smoother cross-cut fossil, bark fossil offers bold natural patterns that ensure every knife is visually unique. Polished nickel silver bolsters complete the traditional presentation, giving the case mammoth saddlehorn knife an elegant appearance worthy of its limited production.

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER from Case: The handles of this case knife are crafted from fossilized Mammoth Ivory mined from the permafrost of Siberian Russia. The Mammoth, an ancestor to the modern Elephant first roamed the Earth some 4 to 5 million years ago, and became extinct between 12 and 40 thousand years ago. Because this handle has been underground for thousands of years, there may be large variations in color or surface finish. Fossil Mammoth Ivory handles may have lines, fissures or other imperfections that are inherent in this material and should not be considered as defects.

Measuring 3 1/2 inches closed, this traditional Saddlehorn is equipped with Tru-Sharp surgical stainless steel Clip and Skinner blades, offering the versatile two-blade configuration that has made the pattern a favorite among traditional knife enthusiasts. Produced in a strictly limited run of only 250 pieces, this knife represents one of the more desirable exotic material releases from the early 2000s.

This knife is new, never used, carried, or sharpened, and has remained safely stored since originally purchased. It comes housed in a replacement Case XX Black Felt Jewel Box. Proudly made in Bradford, Pennsylvania, USA, the case mammoth saddlehorn knife is an outstanding addition to any serious Case XX collection, combining prehistoric natural materials, traditional craftsmanship, and exceptional rarity.
