Description
The case platts yellow bone canoe is a limited custom from Wild Horse Custom Knives, #08 of 15. Hand-fired Platts Jig Yellow Bone handles, engraved nickel silver bolsters, fileworked liners and a worked backspring turn the classic Case XX Canoe into a true collector’s piece, finished with scrolled Tru-Sharp stainless steel blades.
Hand-fired Platts Jig Yellow Bone is the heart of this knife. Platts jigging gives the bone a pronounced texture, and the hand-fired treatment adds depth, warmth, and individual character to the yellow color. Because each pair of covers is fired by hand, no two knives in the run look exactly alike.
The Canoe takes its name from its shape, a curved, double-ended frame with a blade at each end. At 3 5/8 inches closed, it is one of the most distinctive traditional patterns Case makes.
The custom work continues throughout the build. Engraved nickel silver bolsters frame the bone with polished contrast, the liners are fileworked, and the backspring is worked along its length. These are the details that set the case platts yellow bone canoe apart from a standard production Canoe.
Scrolled Tru-Sharp stainless steel blades carry the decorative work onto the blades themselves. Stainless steel resists staining and needs very little upkeep, so the case platts yellow bone canoe is as easy to own as it is to admire.
Only 15 were made, and each is individually numbered. This case platts yellow bone canoe is #08 of 15, documented by a Certificate of Authenticity from Wild Horse Custom Knives.
It arrives brand new, never used, carried, or sharpened, in a Case XX jewel box. For collectors of engraved Case knives, hand-fired bone, or the Canoe pattern, the case platts yellow bone canoe is a distinctive addition to the collection.
