Description

The tim robertson zulu knife is a handcrafted traditional slipjoint from Texas custom knifemaker Tim Robertson, combining classic Zulu styling with clean execution and premium modern materials. Robertson specializes in traditional slipjoints, and the Zulu Shadow showcases that focus through its balanced proportions, hand-finished CPM-154 blade, and carefully detailed Black Paper Micarta construction.

The handles feature jigged and fluted Black Paper Micarta covers, giving the knife rich texture and understated character while retaining the durability and stability associated with Micarta. A stainless steel escutcheon and distinctive Birdseye pivot provide refined accents against the dark covers, while stainless steel liners and spring complete the traditional slipjoint construction.

At the heart of the tim robertson zulu knife is a 3-inch CPM-154 spear blade finished with a hand-rubbed satin surface and traditional nail nick. The knife incorporates a half-stop that sits flush in all positions, reflecting the attention to fit and mechanical execution expected from a handmade custom slipjoint. Measuring 4 inches closed and 7 inches overall, the Zulu Shadow offers substantial proportions without losing the clean profile of the traditional pattern.

Tim Robertson began making knives in 2004 and developed his craft with a particular emphasis on traditional slipjoint construction. A member of the South Texas Slipjoint Cartel, Robertson has become part of a community of makers dedicated to preserving and advancing the craft of handmade traditional pocket knives.

Made in Texas, USA, the tim robertson zulu knife comes brand new in a branded padded zippered pouch. Its combination of hand-rubbed CPM-154, intricately worked Black Paper Micarta, traditional slipjoint mechanics, and Robertson’s handmade craftsmanship makes it a compelling piece for collectors of contemporary custom traditional knives.
