Description
The case mammoth doctor knife is one of the rarest factory-produced Mammoth Bark Fossil releases from the early 2000s. Manufactured in 2003 and limited to only 250 pieces, this exceptional Doctor pattern pairs genuine prehistoric Mammoth Bark Fossil with one of Case XX’s most distinctive traditional designs, creating a highly desirable collectible for advanced Case enthusiasts.
Its genuine 20,000-year-old Mammoth Bark Fossil handles display rugged natural texture, rich coloration, and remarkable organic character formed over thousands of years. Every set of fossil scales is naturally unique, ensuring no two knives are exactly alike. Polished nickel silver bolsters complete the classic presentation while complementing the extraordinary prehistoric handle material.
IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER from Case: The handles of this case knife are crafted from fossilized Mammoth Ivory mined from the permafrost of Siberian Russia. The Mammoth, an ancestor to the modern Elephant first roamed the Earth some 4 to 5 million years ago, and became extinct between 12 and 40 thousand years ago. Because this handle has been underground for thousands of years, there may be large variations in color or surface finish. Fossil Mammoth Ivory handles may have lines, fissures or other imperfections that are inherent in this material and should not be considered as defects.
Measuring 3 3/4 inches closed, this Doctor knife features a Tru-Sharp surgical stainless steel Spear blade enhanced with the rare factory Mammoth blade etching, a detail found on only a small number of Mammoth Fossil releases. This distinctive etching further enhances the historical significance and collector appeal of the case mammoth doctor knife, making it one of the standout pieces from the 2003 series.
This knife is new, never used, carried, or sharpened, and has remained safely stored since originally purchased. It comes housed in a replacement Case XX Black Felt Jewel Box. Proudly made in Bradford, Pennsylvania, USA, the case mammoth doctor knife is an exceptional combination of prehistoric materials, traditional American craftsmanship, and limited-production rarity.
