Description

The richard rogers mammoth fossil linerlock knife represents the apex of modern custom knife artistry, combining the mechanical precision of master knifemaker Richard Rogers with the world-renowned scrimshaw work of Linda Karst. This one-of-a-kind folder features 20,000-year-old Mammoth Fossil scales sourced from the Siberian permafrost, each piece selected for color, structure, and natural integrity. The front scale carries an extraordinary scrimshaw scene signed L. Karst, depicting an African Lion King with zebras and buffalo — a deeply detailed tableau executed with museum-level artistry.

At 4 ¾ inches closed and a little over 8 inches overall, this upscale Linerlock is engineered with Richard Rogers’ hallmark precision. The 154-CPM saber-ground drop point blade features a hand-rubbed satin finish and is marked ROGERS HANDMADE. A matching mammoth fossil thumb stud, stainless steel engine-turned liners, and satin-finished stainless bolsters complete the refined presentation. As expected from Rogers’ shop philosophy — where “good enough is not acceptable” — every surface, fit, and mechanical action reflects meticulous craftsmanship.

Rogers has earned over 50 awards, including two Blade Show “Best of Show” honors, and this knife is an outstanding example of the elevated form and function his work is known for. Karst’s scrimshaw contribution elevates it further, blending natural-history material with fine-art engraving.

A true one-of-one, the richard rogers mammoth fossil linerlock knife is a pinnacle collectible suitable for high-end custom collections, fossil-ivory showcases, or art-grade knife displays. Brand new, never used, carried, or sharpened.
